Executive Director

Dale Good

Gitxsan · Terrace, BC

Dale Good (Yobx / Wilp Sim O Gyet for Wilps Wii Gyet) is a dedicated Gitxsan leader, land steward, and community advocate deeply rooted in his Wilps Wii Gyet heritage. As Hereditary Chief (Wilp Sim O Gyet) for Wilps Wii Gyet, he carries forward traditional responsibilities while bridging them with modern governance and sustainability efforts.

For over 20 years, Dale has served as a committed land steward on his Wilp’s traditional territory. Through sustainable fishing practices at their family site, he has helped feed 100+ families each year, supporting food sovereignty and cultural continuity for his community.

Current Leadership Roles:

  • Newly elected Chair, Gitxsen West Secondary School Board of Trustees – advancing education and opportunities for Gitxsan youth.
  • Director at Large, Skeena Watershed Coalition – championing watershed protection, wild salmon ecosystems, and environmental stewardship in the Skeena region.
  • Board Director, Tea Creek Teaching Farm – supporting Indigenous-led food sovereignty, land-based training, trades skills, and community healing initiatives.

In addition to his community leadership, Dale is co-owner of a small demolition team specializing in the interior of houses and commercial buildings.
